Microsoft New Zealand Innovative Teachers Awards

Applications have already been received for the 2008 Awards. Final selection of the four winners of the Microsoft New Zealand Partners in Learning Innovative Teachers Award will be announced at the Ulearn conference in Christchurch. Watch this space for further announcements and updates.

Every year at Microsoft we recognise and reward exceptional, visionary teachers who have introduced innovative technologies in creative ways into their classroom programmes.  

In 2008 four New Zealand teachers will be recognised and rewarded with a Microsoft NZ PiL Most Innovative Teachers Award. Each winner will receive the ‘Innovative Teacher Trophy’ and a complimentary trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to attend the Microsoft Asia Pacific Partners in Learning Innovative Teachers' Conference from the 9th to the 11th June 2009 (dates and venue subject to change). The prize includes return economy airfare from the winner’s nearest city, hotel single accommodation for four nights (total prize value approximately $5,000).

This award is about innovative use of technology in your classroom. It’s your inspiration and innovations that matter. 

Selection of winners is a two step process:

1.    Complete the application form online on this portal

To enter you'll need to be a member of the Innovative Teachers Portal. If you are already a member, simply sign in to the portal, otherwise complete the Registration Form then sign in to the portal.

Up to 15 teachers will be selected from this group to present a poster about their innovative teaching at the Ulearn Conference in October 2009. Each teacher presenting a poster is rewarded with a ‘Microsoft NZ Partners in Learning Innovative Teacher Certificate’ and IT products to the value of $250.

2.    Present your poster for judging at Ulearn

Four winners will be announced at the Ulearn 2009 Conference. These four teachers will be invited to attend the Microsoft Asia Pacific Partners in Learning Innovative Teachers' Conference  (or similar conference). At this conference one teacher will be selected as the ‘Microsoft New Zealand Partners in Learning Most Innovative Teacher of the Year’ and may go on to attend the Worldwide Microsoft Partners in Learning Innovative Teachers’ Conference in 2010.
